Actually i went to medi help on sunday. $10 and i got in and out, no appointment necessary. Seems as if I have strained the cartilage in my throat from screaming out in the woods and somehow my sinus infection moved into that area as well. Nothing to worry about.
I understand what you are saying though. Like I said, the local news in Dallas is so bad that I LITERALLY can't watch it a night anymore. It makes my stomach queasy to see such violence against people.

Glad you are doing better! You really can't allow infections to fester too long!

Actually I always have a sinus infection, it rarely if ever goes away, even with antibiotics, it just comes back. Supposedly it will do nothing but continue to get worse if I stay here. The dirty air is killing me.

As for the news, I feel the same living here

I always thought that Buffalo showed nothing but the bad things and violence that occurs, but either the pittsburgh media is worse or the crime is.

I suppos too that one's view of "crime" varies from person to person. Some people believe that people who speed should get life in prison. (exaggerating a bit).

Most likely, it's a combo of a rise in crime and a rise in network's ever increasing need to use raw sensationalism to "sell" the news.

For example, last night NBC here said "First at 10, a new study about how cell phones and cancer are related". I accurately predicted it would be a 10 second sound-bite at 10:29 pm. I was off by 1 min. It aired at 10:28. :-)

Look up "Constructive Eviction." You have a right to peaceful enjoyment. You can evict yourself and not lose your security deposit.

Well cell phones have always been related to cancer, along with the web of electrical wires that run through your house, not to mention anything "wireless"

I do agree that its probably a combination of the network(channel 11 news is pretty much the only tv news source) and the crime.

Good point! I'd forgotten about that one. Also, if you end up having to go to court, any reasonable judge will look seriously at you being mugged in your hallway!

Try living in Phoenix. Not only are you able to get killed while sitting around waiting for the bus, but you can get your groceries stolen at the same time too! That is so typical for Phoenix. Pittsburgh and Buffalo's crime has nothing on this place!

If a man screams in the woods and there is noone there to hear him, did he really get a sinus infection?

To go back to the very original question, Pittsburgh still has one of the lowest (if not THE lowest) crime rates among the top 25 largest metros in the USA. Oh, and what's even stranger, is that Pittsburgh's violent crime rate is up right now, but murder and rape rates are down. Go figure. From 2005 to 2006 we also had a decrease in property crime - burglary, larceny/theft and motor vehicle theft.
