Gang I am considering renting in a town home community way down Rt 51 in Jefferson Hills for my first year in Pittsburgh. I was looking at the maps tonight concerned about the drive into the city and I stumbled across what looks like an alternate for 51 called Timberland Ave. that starts at the 5 points intersection where 88 south and 51 south split and it continues all the way up to the Liberty Tunnel. Odd thing is that on Google aerial it had not a single car on it yet 51 was crowded. Anyone know what thats about?

Any reason you want to go to Jefferson Hills? If not, find another place if you need to get to town.
It is possible that road is a cut through. I am from the South Hills and cut through many different streets, all depending on the time I leave my house. One thing for certain, I have the option of the Liberty Tunnel, Fort Pitt Tunnel, or going over the mountain. I wouldn't want to go through the Liberty Tunnel on a daily basis. |

I am apprehensive about it, I am looking for a 2 bedroom townhome or ranch to rent with a clean dry basement. There is a nice complex in Jefferson Hills for 750, 800 with my cat.
If I can find such a place North I would take it but I have not been able to nail one down yet. My move date is Jan 1. |
