Question Pit bulls in Pittsburgh

I am researching possibly relocating to Pittsburgh from NYC. I have a pit bull and I was wondering if there are any breed restrictions in the city or any in the works.

I plan on going to Pittsburgh at the end of this month to check it out but I don't want to bother if my dog will be an issue.

Thanks!

Hm. I don't believe there is. I am from neighboring Westmoreland County and I know several people with Pitt Bulls and Rottweilers with no problems. I imagine Allegheny County is the same.

I live in Pittsburgh and frequent the dog parks here, and I am almost positive there is no breed restrictions in Pittsburgh. I have seen plenty of Pitt Bulls at the dog parks.

Have fun visiting Pittsburgh!

We just moved to Pittsburgh from Boston. We have a pit bull and although we haven't licensed her yet, I have taken her to a vet and they didn't mention that she wasn't allowed here.

gallacus and jhprentiss: Thank you for your observations! They are reassuring.

A pit bull ban is one of the reasons I would never consider moving to Denver.
