I know. we have been planning to sell our house for almost 3 years now. so we have nuetral colors that long. When we get our new house I am gonna go color crazy!! LOL.

It just cracks me up too. everyone's saying, "Its gotta look spacious" My house is a starter home. It is around 1200 sq ft. It isn't spacious.
And it is priced accordingly. I am well below the going market for a house this size in the area. We started off wih it listed at 169K and were still on the low end. We are as low as we can go and still be able to get our own house now so this is where we will sit until someone loves it.

I can't remember -- are you moving for a job? Because some companies have house buying plans -- to get you where you need to go they will buy your home at a little below market value, to get you up to PA...

From doing janitorial I can see that people are just SO lazy anymore. When we bought our house 20 years ago it needed work. They all needed work. Now, even the low end homes out here have granite counter tops and stainless kitchen appliances, new tile floors and updated bathrooms -- new flooring and carpet.

All freakin' beige. Gotta love those neutral colors. (Barf!)
Sometimes I think beige is SO overrated!!! I had BARN RED walls and all kinds of paint effects in my last house....the buyer requested the leftover paint be left behind...she liked the colors so much. Not many people you meet will say "I just LOVE beige". I love trying new colors...sometimes they don't work...I just try again until I get the look I was going for. It is the one area I won't change just to sell a house!

We are moving simply because we want to but we really, really want to. LOL. We have our house listed below the appraissal value right now so I wonder how much lower they buy them for? I need to do some research!

Good for you! It is just the first thing you hear when you say you are gonnas ell your house, "nuetral colors, nuetral colors. Blah, blah blah. And I mean that, BLAH. I had beautiful red walls too and we had a small house fire nad painted evrything nuetral to get it ready to sell. I feel like I have been in limbo ever since. House fire, Katrina and now, trying to sell the house. I just feel completely unsettled I already feel like Pittsburgh is home I just can't seem to get there. I am thinking about getting a Feng Shui lady. I saw some hippy chick on one of those "Please sell my house" shows do it and she sold her house the next day.LOL. Maybe it'll work.

Yeah, but I live in California, and when things were hot out here, it really could cost you lots of bucks. Houses that were not neutralized sold for thousands less than houses that were neutralized. Lots of thousands.

And you can find granite places out here that sell granite CHEEP.

Oh yeah -- wanted to add -- we won't sell our house till houses start selling again and we're ready to retire. We've lived here so long (20 years) that we'll buy the new place with our equity, redo this one in neutrals, refinish the hardwood floors (would love to do it now but 1000 square feet and 9 cats and a packrat hubby -- not a chance!) and then stage it with rental stuff.

Then it can take what it takes.

Very nice!! If we were ready to move, I would swing by, myself. Cute and cozy. Maybe just add some pics of the bedrooms? Hope you get some traffic from it!! Just curious, how long of a drive is it to New Orleans?
