Tax structure/policy is pretty important too. Yet you stay in the area and complain about real estate taxes.

I don't know why someone who is so miserable with people who complain about the weather doesn't just move to a place where people don't complain about the weather.

Big difference. I can downsize and probably will, but weather isn't in our control. Property taxes are.

I don't know about that. I've had more luck with umbrellas than I've had with voting.

Not liking one aspect of a region's weather certainly isn't a reason to leave. Say Copanut loves everything else about Pittsburgh's weather. Moving to avoid leaves would be foolish because it would be difficult to find a similar climate that doesn't have leaves.

I recall from Copanut's posts throughout the years that he really doesn't hate the leaves, he just hates that teenagers can't be hired to do yard work. Since teenagers are the same almost everywhere, it's unlikely that moving would solve his problem with leaves.

So I guess it's legit to get her a vacuum cleaner for her birthday?

I'm going to leave work early to go probably mess with the leaves mainly, although I have a couple other things I'd like to get done before dark. Would be better to get some of them up before this rain soaks 'em in.
