Glad police are on the scene. Is there were kids would go if they live on the Northside and didn't get into a magnet?

Perry Traditional and Oliver were the two big North Side public high schools. Recently Oliver was closed and I think a lot of thise kids ended up at Perry. Not sure what Perry's reputation is these days but when some of my closest friends went there the notion was that you could still get a good education. Some of the guys I know who attended Perry went onto good colleges and are now successful.

In order to maintain magnet status, a student must:
· 85% (2009) – 90% (2010) attendance
· 2.0 grade point average
· Appropriate behavior, as outlined in the magnet contract and the Pittsburgh Promise
That's not very strict, but I suppose it weeds out the really bad apples. Where do the kids that don't meet those requirements get sent to?

That's why I think the guns should be outlawed, just like in Europe. Since I grew up over there my views are very European.
I understand it is in the constitution but I think this paragraph is outdated IMO. We don;t live in the wild west anymore. This way guns won't get in the hands of irresponsible people, killing innocent lives.

Maybe you should... go back?

Outlawing guns won't get rid of guns. Criminals will still have them. That's kind of the point of "being criminals" is that they don't follow the law.

I didn't see anything about what kind of gun they have but I agree hand guns should basically be outlawed.

Guns are outlawed in schools, and he brought one there anyway.

If a child is kicked out of a magnet, the student will attend the normal feeder school. The feeder school is based on the students neighborhood.
