Watch it, son You don't mean the old time Cranberry-ites, who remember Krome's Pharmacy and Tack Shop... and can remember when Sun Valley housing development was a large ranch owned by the Rolls... who I think are buried in Plains Presbyterian Church's cemetery, the oldest church in Cranberry.
I'm stunned at the money around there -- because jeez -- when I was young it was pretty rural. And now the rural is going away. Sucks on toast, that one.

The Westinghouse Nuclear division Campus in Cranberry is one of the largest single R&D complexes being developed size wise in the country. This is a huge development for SW PA. Charlotte and the Research Triangle area were the top choices by many for relocation of the division. Some strong original ties to the city and area and some taxation help provided the needed reasons to stay in the Pittsburgh area. I have heard the multiplier effect of the nuclear division setting up shop in the Pittsburgh area could lead to as many as 11,000 jobs.

Yeah, Seneca Valley approved to let them off tax free, just pass it on to the residents.

I thought the nuclear division was just moving from Monroevile to Cranberry. Seems like that would just move the jobs, too.

The ~2000 jobs in Monroeville will be moving to Cranberry, but there will be at least 1000 new jobs added by the time the move is complete in 2010. That's going to have a huge impact on the schools in that area.

Yes, it will impact the schools. And with Westinghouse paying no taxes, it will be hard to handle. Hopefully, some people will just stay wherever they already live and commute.

Maybe they are jealous that they have to pay higher taxes than people in Butler County.

I don't know...I think it's great to see some signs of economic life in an otherwise stagnant region of the U.S.

My family is actually considering leaving cranberry twp. With this strike and the upcoming development, our taxes will go sky high. We have already started looking north of here.
