Have any of you heard of a band called Anti-Flag from Pittsburgh? They've been around since the mid 90's, but since they're a punk band they never got much exposure in Pittsburgh, except for in the punk scene.
If any of you aren't familiar with them, you should check them out. Do a youtube search for Ant-Flag. More specifically, "Anti-Flag" "1984". All of us should be proud of having a band like that come out of Pittsburgh. Even you conservative types and old-timers. Here, I found the link:YouTube - Anti-Flag - "Welcome to 1984" |

I think a couple of them went to high school in moon. My brother has been a fan for years, I think he met them before.

I think Rusted Root still holds crown for Pittsburgh's best band ever title. :P Many others would say The Clarks.. blah.

As for AF, I bought Die for the Government when it first came out and I've been a fan ever since. I've heard people saying they're new stuff is too poppy, and I agree to a point..but I wouldn't go so far as to call them sellouts or anything. It's not like they turned into Blink-182 or Green Day. Some of their newer material is sort of poppy, but I still like what they stand for. I grew up listening to punk rock but as I get older I'm not into it so much. There's only a handful of bands I never stopped liking and never got old to me. AF and Bad Religion are two of those bands. I saw both of them together a few years ago in Rostraver and it was an awesome show. I'm going to Allentown next week to see BR again. |

I just can't get into any of the new anti flag or propagandhi. doesn't do anything for me, but the old stuff is still a good listen. anti flag got a little poppy, especially that song on madden. propagandhi on the other hand got heavier. |

AF had a song on Madden? As in the freakin' football video game? Sheesh, that's pretty bad.
