Maybe we can name a bridge too for every star?
Oh wait, they already started that a few years back. (Clemente, Carson, Warhol, etc)
No problem on shortage as we are the city of bridges.

I would wager that the idea to declare 12-12-12 Wiz Khalifia Day was was thought up before the tragic death of the local Navy Seal.

I am sure that the city would be more than happy to declare a day in honor of the latest fallen hero from our area, but it seems as if though you are bothered by who they honored rather than when they happened to honor him.

Wiz Khalifia has done a lot to bring attention to Pittsburgh lately, one of many who have, so I see no problem in honoring him. As for his penchant for smoking dope, I can only say that he is one of many in a long line of fairly successful pot smokers. Doubt there would be a raised eyebrow if Bob Dylan was from Pgh, and we had declared 12-12-12 his day....

Didn't he graduate from Allderdice? I think that's still in Pgh.

Technically he was born in Minot, ND...but he didn't grow up there, didn't graduate high school there, doesn't own a house in its suburbs, doesn't write #1 Billboard songs about it, and doesn't claim it as his home town....so if we are only going to claim people who were born here, then no he isn't FROM Pittsburgh....in that case either is Michael Keaton (Coraopolis) or even Art Rooney (Coulterville)...

4/20 is already a widely celebrated holiday though... Maybe April 19th should be Wiz Khalifa Day instead
