I would say in the past two decades it has happened to me once. That was at the Thunderbird.

So one person, one time, in one place was a jerk to you. Therefore, the entire place is a dump? What kind of logic is that?

He is a regular there, not a passer by. There were two regulars trying to pick fights in that dump. Notice the word, "regular". I asked about him to people that live in Lawrenceville and he is known to always be there. Like I said, if that is an indication of who goes there, I vote for no expansion. Plus do you really want nightclub type places there? I think it wouldn't be good for that area.

I always thought it was a blues bar. My friends that frequent it are 50 something attorneys.

I think that's crappy reasoning. There are a lot of jerks at Heinz Field, Heinz Hall, or Heinz Lofts, and that doesn't make those places "dumps".

Don't make the Thunderbird out to be a rough and rowdy nuisance bar. Clearly, it's not.

I think it varies a lot depending upon the day and the show. Five years or so ago I used to go to Karaoke there with friends sometimes, and there was a big lesbian crowd which showed up for that night in particular.

Just about every bar in Lawrenceville - even ones like New Amsterdam - have a few local drunks who started hanging out there for some reason or another, no matter what the general vibe of the place is. The Thunderbird used to have this elderly man in a motorized wheelchair who went by the name "pappy."

Live music venue in Pittsburgh - The Thunderbird Cafe - Lawrenceville Bar & Lounge - Live bands

^ That's a dump??? What do the nice places look like? You dump looks far more attractive and safer than anything we have in my area, including the original Quaker Steak & Lube. I would love to go to a dump like the Thunderbird. I might even meet someone intelligent to talk to, there.

I know, right? I think the Thunderbird is really nice. I love watching shows from the balcony, it's like being up in a tree house.

Some people who other people would call hipsters may go there from time to time. Other people go there, too.
