FL's economy is failing the lack of taxes etc will not be here soon.. I have a strong strong feeling on that one.
My Uncle's say the same thing. I realize there are many parts of Florida that never experience such things, but my Uncle's claim if they move back to Pittsburgh someday, they would gladly pay some higher taxes than ever have to evacuate again. LOL.

I lived in Orlando from 1993-2001. I still visit at least once a year. It's amazing how downhill things have gone there. I am so glad I left! All the nice apartments have been converted to mediocre condominums. The majority of the shopping has been replaced by strip malls anchored by a Wal-Mart or Walgreens. The roads (even the toll roads) are almost always congested. All the new houses look the same! Half of the radio stations are now in Spanish. It's hard to communicate with store and restaurant employees as many of them do not speak English.

I kinda have to defend Walgreen's here because Walgreen's and Walmart have nothing in common. lol.

Walgreen's is actually a tremendously respected American company that treats their employees like royalty and is actually considered one of the gold standards of what American companies and quality ought to look like and strive for and that's the truth. Nothing wrong with having Walgreen's around.

Although I've been boycotting Wal-Mart for over 2 years (for many, many, reasons), the intension of my post was not to put down either company. I'll go to either Walgreens or Rite-Aid, whichever one is more convenient. I'll even go to CVS on occasion. The point of my post was that these strip malls are identical. You're on the main road and see a Walgreens with a bunch of other stores. You drive another mile and see almost the exact same Walgreens plaza again, and this repeats over and over! It drives me absolutely insane and this is very common in places like Orlando, Tampa, Clearwater, etc.

Actually Pittsburgh was contracted with several other pharmacies for many years that prevented Walgreens from entering the market.
However, that contract expired a few years ago and I think Walgreens now has about 16 up in the greater Pittsburgh area and tons more being developed or planned.
