This one is less epic, but I found it to be quite a pleasant surprise when I saw it for the first time:

Right on the corner of McCandless and 53rd, just off of Stanton Ave in Upper Lawrenceville. It's a tiny little subsection of the larger hill that Stanton follows. You get up there and turn around on that corner, and you get a really priceless little view of downtown. The three or four homes on that part of the perch have a totally unknown little treasure.

I don't think you can see it through google maps, sadly.

I know exactly what you're talking about. That is an *awesome* and easily accessible view.

Nice view of town through the valley from Behrens St. in Westwood.

Also, I like the view of town while driving down 28 crossing the Novosel bridge over Little Pine Creek.

That was most unexpected the first time I saw that when driving some folks home from the hospital in the cab years ago- cutting from the Lincoln district to Homewood.

I live in Lawrenceville and was about to come here to say about this view on McCandless right above Stanton Ave. I love that view so much.

The pic doesn't do it justice. When I first found that spot, it took my breath away. It really shows the rugged terrain of Pittsburgh.
