It would be a sunset in that direction, but agreed that it's a very nice shot.

Also, cool find from Robinson, I'm assuming that's that church up on the hill that I remember, that would make sense.

Thank you! That would be the church you are talking about, the one above Settler's Ridge.

Yeah, always looks like it should be the setting for a creepy movie.

One of the best viewpoints in the South Hills area is the parking lot of the Cavalry Full Gospel Church on Hickory Grade Rd. in South Fayette Twp. You can easily spot the Pittsburgh skyline peeking over the hills, as well as pretty much the entire South Hills area.

Plus, it is one of the best places around to watch the 4th of July firework displays. You can see Pittsburgh's display, plus at least 10 more displays. I was able to spot the Mt. Lebanon, South Hills Village, Scott Twp., Dormont, Robinson Twp., Moon Twp., possibly Brentwood, possibly Canonsburg, and several other displays.

Ha, I always thought the same thing. I snapped this pic one time on a gloomy day.

Love it when you can see 5-6 fireworks displays on the 4th. I did that once from a rooftop party at a very tall hotel. Saw fireworks in every direction--very cool.

Does anyone know if/when the water tower at North Park is open to the public? I would bet the view is great from there.
