Interesting article (apart from those that have to make snide comments on any sports thread about how they are above all that) and curious to some of the places that the steelers show up in. Alaska actually makes sense as they have no team anywhere close by & the steelers have been a successful franchise; its the random spots in oregon, nevada, utah, etc that's more questionable

Somewhat surprised to see how even in Eastern PA outside of the Philly metro the Steelers win out in most counties. I guess that may have to do with the success of the Steelers over the Eagles.

Interesting to see how the Toledo area goes to the Steelers. I had imagined that the Lions would be more popular due to the proximity to Detroit. It is also interesting how support for the Ravens stops at the PA line

I'm surprised to see that South Carolina is a Steeler state and that eastern North Carolina is similar.

I suspect that the Toledo area is Steeler country because Detroit and Cleveland cancel each other out there. i.e., it could be 25% Lions fans, 25% Browns fans, and 30% Steeler fans.

I also like how Florida reflects its largely transplanted population.

Even western Maryland ditches the Ravens for the Steelers. Could be a little bit of Washington canceling Baltimore enough that the Steelers have a little bit higher percentage.

I'm surprised at the random places where Dallas still wins out. Hard to believe after all these years. I mean I guess it's one thing in Nebraska because, well, who would it be? Look at it, all over the place. But what's up with southern Virginia?? No love for Carolina eh? Weird. Maybe it's Carolina and Washington canceling, that sort of thing....

Actually, I'm surprised it isn't KC in more of Nebraska, at least eastern Nebraska. It's Dallas in Omaha, the biggest city. Maybe there are some former U of Nebraska alum playing for Dallas? There are a couple of Steelers counties in Nebraska as well.

Looks like the Jets have only one county?

North and South Carolina have a lot of Pittsburgh ex-pats, so to speak. I have a lot of relatives and former classmates in both states. They've all indoctrinated their children as well.
