Default Rent To Own

I noticed this trend of Rening to Own.

Any thoughts would be appreciated since I am looking to rent in Pburgh and buy a place.

Maaz is on a distinguished road
It depends on the agreement. If you are looking to rent to own, I would carefully review how much of your money is going towards the purchase and how much is wasted on rent. In addition, some landlords are sometimes willing to do owner finance, where you buy the house and make payments, with interest, directly to them.

Maaz is correct. I have heard many horror stories about "rent to own". Is your desire to rent to own based on credit issues that prevent you from buying outright? If so, most rent to own agreements I have read state that any deposits/payments toward a downpayment are forfeited if you fail to qualify for a loan at the end of the contract term.

I am not a mortgage specialist though. This is just based on my own personal exploration of the concept.
