The Keystone Politics blog is paying attention:

Holy Crap: Ravenstahl Thinking About Dropping Out of #PGHMayor Race? - Keystone Politics

If - if - this has something to do with the FBI investigation of the Police Bureau, does this suggest it's a bigger problem than some might have imagined?

Or a funeral - wasn't that what Harper said he needed time off for? Just before his career imploded?

The bodyguards said he knew about the debit cards.

What inspired the FBI investigation that lead to this? Was there a whistleblower?

Good question - but we're not going to hear the answer for a while yet.

Today, he is expected to fire back at reporters, whom he feels have treated him unfairly.
Why did I have a flashback of my 5 year son, pouting and stomping his foot?

His parents somehow failed to teach him one of the most important life lessons:

Life is unfair. The sooner you accept that, the happier you will be.

And I'll add, the less annoying you will be to others.

Such strong, negative reactions to this guy. He doesn't do much for me one way or the other, but I'll note that he has been mayor of Pgh. during the gentrification you all so love to tout, the likes of which has hardly been seen in any other Pgh. mayoralty, at least in my lifetime. Not to say he's personally responsible for 100% of the increased value of your house, or every last leaf of arugula in Market Square, but I think the man deserves something other than the full-on derision to which you all are treating him.

BS, that guy lived a great life in his 20's, never worked, free rides in a Hummer to 7 Springs, rode in a parade, crashed the Open at Oakmont to hobnob with Tiger. Not bad for a knucklehead.

He can't claim credit for the gentrification. It's the result of changing social patterns, not public policy in this case.

If - and I say if - he is caught up in some sort of Police Bureau corruption scandal, all the leaves of arugula in the world will matter not a jot.
