If you go to the Aviary, definitely pay the extra $5 for the bird show, very entertaining. If you want to learn about Pittsburgh, the Heinz History Center will fill you in on what is Pittsburgh. I should have left myself more time when I visited. The Fort Pitt museum is good and it covers Pittsburgh's pre-Revolutionary period. The Gateway Clipper is a good way to see Pittsburgh from the rivers. Just Ducky tours is fun as it has an amphibious vehicle, and yes it goes into the river when river conditions permit. You must take an Incline up Mt Washington to take in the city from up there. If you are a bit of a science Geek, check out the Carnegie Science Center. The Rivers Casino is as good as any casino I saw in Vegas. On future visits, I want to see the Zoo and Aquarium, and the Carnegie Natural Science museum, and maybe some of the art museums like the Carnegie, Warhol, and Frick.

I used Priceline and got great deals on hotels in downtown Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh is exceptionally good for walking.

Another thing with shopping, there is no sales tax in PA on shoes and clothes (I've been to Ontario many times so I've seen the high sales taxes) so if you're looking for some bigger shopping this time around, might be worth a stop for you guys at Ross Park Mall and Grove City Outlets.

Instead of the Segway Tour, I'd try the "Just Ducky Tour". It picks up in Station Square and is an amphibious vehicle that gives a tour of Downtown, the North Shore, AND goes out into the water on the rivers.

I see Phipps Conservatory, botanical garden isn't on the list. Totally worth visiting and it is right in Oakland. The butterfly forest exhibit opens this weekend and they are also having the spring market.

I would avoid traveling out of the city to the south as the Fort Pitt Tunnel outbound and the Liberty tunnel inbound are both closed. Traffic is likely to be worse than bad.

Oh sweet! I didn't know this existed.

I just visited Keystone State park this afternoon, and had a wonderful hike. The whole hillside behind the stone cottage was covered in trilliums and I saw a lot of wildflowers and even some jack in the pulpit.
