The former Giant Eagle on Centre and Craig is bare ground with earth moving equipment working on it. Is there a plan or notice somewhere? I can't find anything in the papers or on the news. While I'd often wondered why that building was still there, I haven't been that way in a while and was surprised to see it gone. Not sad or anything. Just curious.

It's going to be a new CVS that will replace the one a few blocks away on the corner of Enfield.

Wow, I had no idea that was formerly a GE. How long ago was that?

Thanks. No wonder it isn't the in paper. Another CVS is way too common to be news.

I think maybe ten years or so. I'm not sure. Obviously, I'm never going to refer to that CVS as anything but "where the Dirty Bird used to be."

Which building was it? Was it the one across from that Citgo/gas station closer to Melwood?

Likewise we can refer to the former CVS building as "turn where CVS used to be!" The missing piece of the puzzle, of course, is what's going to happen with the soon-to-be-vacated CVS space. Maybe a dollar store would work well there, since that's a student-heavy area?

The back of the building was on Melwood with the parking lot on the Craig side.

I'm hoping this is a CVS like the one at Forbes and Murray and not a 1 story piece of suburban crap like what it likely will be. That's an important corner.
