PACE was a small chain of wholesale club stores that was only found in PA, but all over PA from what I recall. Sams Club (which has always been part of Walmart) bought them around 1993-1994, and as a lot of PACE stores were in unusual locations, Sams Club ended up replacing a lot of these with newly built stores in the 2000s. I know Sams Club moved on from the old PACE in West Mifflin, but what happened to the building after that? The PACE/Sams Club in Hatboro PA moved to a new store in nearby Willow Grove about a decade ago and the old store is now a Benjamin Foods restaurant supply store. Is this in West Mifflin too?

No Benjamin Foods in Pittsburgh area that I know of. The old Sams Club has been pretty much vacant for years and was for sale. Part of the building is a truck driving training institute I believe.

Perhaps Wegmans could demolish this building for one of their award-winning gigantic supermarkets?

Pace was K-Mart's wholesale club.

I doubt that Wegman's or any successful retailer would choose such a down and out sector of the Pittsburgh for their first store in the area.

Agreed, if they opened up a store (very unlikely) it would either be in the city itself (E. Liberty would be my guess) or in the Northern suburbs such as Cranberry

Wegman's isn't likely to come here, as I've read that they and Giant Eagle would prefer not to damage profits by getting into a war.
