Is it conveitent to shopping? i know the schools are all North Allegheny which are top notch and I found housing but I am wondering, what you all think who grew up or live near here? I don't think Bradford Woods is a township -- I think it's a borough? Like a town.
I can't say about now -- no wait -- I sort of can. I just drove around it getting my mom all lost when I was back in PA in September. I just love to drive around when I go home and she marvels that I can find my way out of anything -- just like Daddy did.
It's a gorgeous upper middle class to wealthy enclave in the Northern part of Allegheny county, near Cranberry Township, which is in Butler County. Very wooded, houses are very well kept but not new (which is why I like it) and if at one time they were "developments" they have certainly lost that feeling (another plus in my mind). Being that's it's in Allegheny County, your taxes are going to be higher -- but I don't know what extras are tacked onto to the borough...
Here's it's website
Bradford Woods PA
And here's the Wiki
Bradford Woods, Pennsylvania - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
It's very similar in flavor to my other favorite area, the non-incorporated Bradford Park, which is in Beaver County (the whole area is sort of like connected) Pennsylvania QuickFacts from the US Census Bureau
If you look at the left corner of Butler County, it sits on top of Allegheny County and borders the side of Beaver County. That left Corner is Cranberry Township, the left corner of Allegheny that meets it is Marshall Township, where Bradford Woods is, and the connecting Beaver County township is Economy, where Bradford Park is.
My old stomping grounds...
But if you have kids and really care about the schools, I think the schools for Bradford PARK are Alliquippa. I wouldn't do that to my kids.
Bradford Woods is about 20 minutes away from Cranberry, which is loaded with stores of all kinds. I would think it's about the same distance to RossPark Mall... which I think is getting a Nordstroms. Since I don't shop for fun, I don't know about shopping for fun kind of things.
Since I don't live there (I'm in California) I can't add much more... but my mom did say when they moved to Cranberry they looked at Bradford Woods, but my dad didn't like the house as much as ours. But my mom LOVED it...

Tallysmom is right, it's a very posh area, similar to most of the areas up there.

Good gravy! Aliqippa schools? I would check to make sure, but even I, who doesn't put much stock in school rankings, would be wary (to say the least) of that district. (Was that grammatical?)

Oh no..I was informed that Bradford Woods had North Allegheny Schools, if this is not correct, then that is a whole different story here! I am very very selective bout the school..If you all could choose between this neigborhood, Mt Lebnon off Bower hill, or Bethel Park (Rocky Ridge Rd) where would you all pick to live???? THANKS! I need to make a decision by the end of the month if not sooner!

That is correct. They aren't Alliquippa.

Bradford WOODS has North Al schools, Bradford PARK has Alliquippa schools. Two different counties although very close together spacially wise. Bradford Park is cheaper tax wise, though.
