I have friends who are visiting family in Morgantown this weekend, and they'd like to meet up with me in or around Washington. Aside from the casino/racetrack and the outlet mall, I have no idea what else might be a good spot. Any suggestions?

Thanks so much everyone for the insight thus far! I have the rare day off work today, and we've decided to also spend time in Washington County based upon this thread. We're going to do the fair, Sarris (definitely take them here, fleetiebelle!), Meadows, maybe the outlets, and are open to other suggestions. Has anyone in the Bridgeville area (Burghgirl17, okaydorothy, etc.) ever eaten at Rumfish Grille? I was wondering if that would be a good dinner option?

Rumfish is pricey but the new outdoor area looks awesome. I haven't been because they are heavy on shellfish and I am allergic!

Thanks, everyone! I think we're going to hit up the Trolley Museum and maybe the outlet mall and see where else the day takes us.

Be sure to let us know how your day turned out! We're just back. We started out at the fair and had a good time overall. We were disappointed that we paid $6 each to enter around 10:30 AM (today is "discount day"), and there was literally nothing open or going on because everyone was at some sort of right-wing church service in the middle of the fairgrounds. We felt like we stuck out like sore thumbs there as a gay couple. We left around 1 PM, and there were still no operating rides, and a lot of the food vendors were just setting up. We enjoyed checking out the 4H exhibits, the livestock, and the classic cars. We were treated very rudely by two food vendors. For $7 I bought what was supposed to be a blue-cheese-stuffed burger that ended up being a regular beef patty with a bit of cheap Kraft blue cheese dressing on top. I only received this after pretty much being told they didn't want to make it for me to begin with. It was awful. We tried ordering lemonade from one stand that had a picture of lemonade on it, and she yelled at us and said she didn't have any. I've been to numerous "country fairs", and by far the food vendors at the Washington County Fair were the rudest I've ever experienced.

After the fair we went to the casino and had a fairly good time. We stopped at Sarris on the way home and picked up some dark chocolate delicacies. I then drove U.S. Route 19 North back to the city to check out the South Hills since it's been so long since I've been down there. I was surprised to see Peters Township (McMurray) was as built up as it was. I was also pleased to see a huge new building was under construction in Uptown Mt. Lebanon. Traffic wasn't nearly as snarled as South Hills residents typically whine about, and it only took us about an extra 10 minutes to take U.S. Route 19 vs. I-79 North to I-376 East into the city.

We're trying to decide now where to head for dinner. I hope you have a great day, fleetiebelle!
