So did you wind up getting a mortgage? If you don't mind saying, that is.

Nice! Love all the little details, the stained glass and the carved decoration, and even the tiles in the kitchen. They have character. I wouldn't be surprised if some of those tiles have interesting stories behind them. I also like the backyard.

What a great house, congratulations! I was really hoping that you would take the leap and move to my neighborhood, but McKeesport is fortunate to get you.

It's wonderful. Congratulations! Lovely interior and not all stripped and cheaply remuddled like so many older homes are. I am so happy for you. But McKeesport, I would never have expected. LOL Enjoy your new home.

Congrats, PP! Looks like a great place.

If you feel so inclined to post about the area once you settle in, I know I'd love to read about it. I remember taking my first long bike ride through the Rocks after having read many of your posts about the neighborhood, and I've become rather fond of that area since then.

Congratulations on finding a house that had most of its original character intact. A Pittsburgh foursquare without the stained glass windows, just isn't a foursquare. Without those and the other details, your heart would sink every time you returned home and you thought of what had been lost. Now you can return to your home and your street and think, "at least on this block we have stopped the worst of the bad remodels."

Well, I can make my house my own little history museum. Every room being intact, can be decorated in such a way that it conveys the era the home was built.
