I don't mind the cold so much, hopefully we'll avoid any huge snowfalls.

A cold snap or two can really cut down on the number of bugs around in 2014

I'd like a repeat of March 2012. One day, it decided to just be spring. If anyone recalls, the temperatures were 60s, 70s, even some 80s daily in March 2012. I remember thinking it was "hot" if you were in the direct sun!

The most accurate winter prediction, as always, is from Groundhog Day:

"You want a prediction about the weather, you're asking the wrong Phil. I'll give you a winter prediction: It's gonna be cold, it's gonna be grey, and it's gonna last you for the rest of your life."

That's my favorite movie quote. Describes the **** show known as a Pittsburgh winter to the T. Every once in a while during winter you'll see this moon-like shaped ball underneath the thick layer of dark clouds. That's actually the sun. Rare though

That was awesome. We paid dearly the following March however.

...and yet you people that complain so much still live here. Try San Diego, sunny all the time.

I would hardly say that winter in Pittsburgh is any different than winter in the rest of the northeast. Winter in Pittsburgh could be seen as mild with some of the gigantic snow makers New England gets slammed with. Or winter in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area makes Pittsburgh seem warm come winter.

that's exactly what my buddy from Boston says. And my buddy from Grand Rapids. And my buddy from Chicago. But such facts are not able to sink in to the brain of the eternally 28yo dude from pgh, who, despite his dislike of the place, has lived here for 28 years and still lives here. Says it all, really ...
