I think he is posting his credit score to show he did not declare bankruptcy, which he has been accused of.
Personally, I feel bad for the guy. From what I have read/heard about him I do not get the vibe that he is pompous or elitist at all.

He is absolutely neither pompous nor elitist. Of all the newer chefs who've opened places in town in the past 5-6 years, there's only one I'd accuse of that, and it's certainly not Sousa.

I don't know Sousa at all, but on the surface, I wouldn't think he would be pompous if he is opening a restaurant in Braddock.

As far as local media or really any media is concerned, they cannot be trusted to tell any truth in the least. News is all about shock value and money, not truths. Those days are long gone. Being an older person, I can't believe the difference in news of today compared to back in the 70's and 80's. News back then was a public service, not a business for profit. There was NO money in news, now it is big buck due to shock value. It has become entertainment only, BUT most people sadly take it as truth. I wish people wouldn't, but people love to be shocked which equates to $$$$$$$$$$$$ through advertising dollars.

Yeah, the news media was already caught telling half-truths and lies in regards to Sousa's finances, so it's hard to trust much of what they say on this (or in general - if you're ever on the other side of a news story, you'll learn the hard way how much **** they get wrong, either intentionally or just out of incompetence).

From what I know, Sousa strikes me as an idealist trying to implement his vision for a world class restaurant while helping the community in a tangible way. I think the Kickstarter money he raised is attracting people who want to get a piece of it through lawsuits, etc. It's just my impression, I certainly don't have any in-depth knowledge of either side of the story.

That is exactly what it seems like to me, too (as another person without in-depth knowledge of the situation).

I'm not surprised. From the start I thought $300K to repurpose that building for a nice restaurant was way too little. Starbucks will drop more than that when redesigning an existing space that hasn't been sitting idle and rotting. The industry average is around $85/sf for a buildout and around a half million for a 3,000 sf upscale restaurant.
