Mostly just flurries, but Thanksgiving and into the next morning we got some snow. I don't remember how much, but I had to wipe it off my car the next morning.

Try living in Buffalo or the south towns. Or Syracuse.

I agree! Also try Minneapolis!

My husband found a great job with the federal government for 74K annually. We are moving to Pittsburgh in a few weeks. My dad is a third generation native from Pittsburgh by way of Ireland. Sadly, though, I was born and raised in Florida. I have disliked Florida since in my early 20's and always loved going to Pittsburgh several times a year to be with family. I am finally getting to live in Pittsburgh (our house is in Murrysville) which is a dream for me, now that I'm in my late 40's...but I'm glad to finally be able to call Pittsburgh my home.
Yeah, there's a lot of percipitation, but as one poster said, even the sunny/blue sky days get old after a while when there's hardly ever a change.
Pittsburgh has awesome things for family and children to do. The educational system is much, much better than where we are coming from.
There's always good and bad with every city and state. You have to make the choice of what is important to you and your family.
Good luck!

Hee! I'm ready to flee Pittsburgh for sunny Tempe, myself.
Yes, it's snowed already, but it didn't stick. My rental house has a flight of wooden stairs to reach ground level, and they were iced over for a day and a half...

You lucky dawg! Murrysville is my FAVORITE Pittsburgh suburb. Go Franklin Regional!! You picked a most excellent school district, low taxes, great proximity to a cute downtown and a BIG downtown (Pittsburgh) and the neighborhoods are gorgeous. BTW, the Murrysville country club is really nice. Have fun and welcome!!

I adore Murrysville. It is a growing area but isn't BOOMING like Cranberry/Adams. I think that's a good thing. It has plenty of healthy growth at a reasonable pace. I also always tell people that parts of Murrsyville are quite old. For example, as your drive along William Penn Highway, you will notice just an average looking town with average looking homes because that area has ALWAYS been populated. However, the new growth and the neighborhoods that stretch back into the gorgeous hills are outstanding. Truly outstanding. There is a TON of room for expansion, too. I anticipate Murrysville is quite a safe bet for the future. It will start to leak into neighboring Export, they also go to Franklin Regional.
