I am guessing school today, none tomorrow.
In ireland, we never had snow/rain days. We walked the 2 miles each way no matter what. The only kids that had school busses were the kids who lived in the country.

things are just different over the last couple decades- there are fewer neighborhood schools. there are a lot more cars on the roads. it might not take much for cancellations, but i guess a combination of overtime pay (if that truly is a reason), safety, and chaotic delays with traffic make it a more valid decision.

no big deal - they will just stay one day longer in june.

ahh, the feeling of a snow day when you were a kid. parents at work all day...bliss.

I once walked to school in below zero temps in my pajamas.

I remember one day, probably about 1988 give or take, where my school was canceled on 1 inch of snow.

Adults were all "they didn't do that back when I was a kid."

Now school gets canceled, and I see people I went to school with say "they didn't do that back when I was a kid."

Whatever.

There were a couple days last year where they called delays for cold on days when the temperature dropped during the time of the delay. Drove me nuts.

I'm hoping for a cancellation too, but mostly for selfish logistical reasons .

I suspect tomorrow could be a closure. Supposed to be pretty damn cold.

It's colder up in MN where they closed the entire state for today, but only by about 10-15 degrees looks like.

Buncha wimps. In my day we would throw pool parties in weather like this and our parents would pass out Lucky Strikes to the neighborhood kids.
