I am what is known as a roadgeek. According to the PennDOT district 11 website, one of the 2013 projects was to upgrade all the remaining signals on Blvd of the Allies to match the mastarm signal standard slowly being adopted within the triangle. Was this work done? Google streetview still has old inages.

Thanks.

The biggest upgrade I've seen is the intersection of Wood St and the Blvd. Point Park bought out an old surface lot, put in a parklet, lighting, and a wall fountain. Major upgrade - looks great.

Essentaily you are an enthusiast of road history and contruction. Check out the discussions on sites like AA roads to see what I mean. My interest stems from living in the far upper East Street Valley area as a youth.

yes! that looks amazing. i dont like to see non-profits expand, but hey, point park has renovated-reused a number of places down there that look beautiful. if they were left to private enterprise, they would have left the buildings looking dumpy on the outside. there oughtta be a law!

hey, roadgeek - what do you think of the bricks on Grant Street? at some intersections, like at Sixth Avenue, they look dangerously mis-aligned, popped out, loose, broken.....

roadgeek - do you have any opinion on using the middle lane (which is solely outbound) on second avenue in hazelwood as a reversible lane? in other words, inbound for the morning rush, and outbound for the afternoon rush? the middle trestle lane can be reversible, too.

no one at city hall wanted to entertain this idea, so maybe its not a workable one. i think it makes perfect sense, actually.

Sadly, I have not lived in Pittsburgh for 28 years, but still visit family there. I do actively follow transportation issues in the area though.
