You can talk them out of the sign up fee.

Its only a pain to leave if you dont understand the contract.
That's not always been entirely true. They recently lost a class action suit for continuing to direct debit some non contracted members for a month or two post cancellation, in violation of their own written contract. I assume this issue has been resolved at this point, though.

i never had issues leaving xsport fitness. ugh, i miss my my gym :/. it seems anything i want that is near 24/7 is going to cost 50+/mo in this city and lacks the things my old gym has. so it looks like i semi need to comrpromise on every aspect (distance, features, price).

sadly i think the closest thing ill get to xsport will be LA fitness and even then, it can only barely match it.

well i went and joined L.A. Fitness @ bakery square. $0 down 39.99/mo.

while the hours wont match my beloved xsport fitness, the environment is similar to it.

I can't say anything bad about it. Sauna, steam room good free weights, machines, running track and basketball court. It isn't a place to go and show off and walk around like a muscle head. More of an older set, but not all older. I would call it a less intimidating type place. The one in the Waterworks is much smaller, but very quiet and relaxing. No pool, but everything else was really nice. I went to the place in Bakery Square for a bit. A bit more muscle head stuff and more fashion conscience folks, but still nice. They have more of a lap pool (smaller), but also nice. It has a more modern feel. I like the JCC quite a bit, but went there for a sport. Everything I saw there was pretty nice though. Parking is more of a pain there however. I also have been to X-Shadyside. It had a younger feel and I don't know, not my cup of tea. I don't belong to a gym right now because I do my working out without it. I sort of miss the gym sometimes and might consider joining again. Not sure though. I would like to swim again and that limits where you can go.

Interesting. I didn't know Chris was a partner. He was my first trainers a pile of years ago. Good for him. I don't think Club One Penn Ave. would have to move. That is a great location with plenty of room. Don't know about the rest.

Thanks for the update.
