Hey there! I was thinking of moving to PA from FL over the summer. I really wanna live in the downtown area (or super close to it). I've been looking at some apartments and I have a question about a couple of them. Does anyone know anything about the 'May Building' or Allegheny Center Apartments? And if not, does anyone know of any reasonably priced apartments ($600-$700 preferably with amenities included)? Thanks in advance!

northernheart - if you can go up $900 + electric, i would suggest trying the Chatham Center Towers.

i know a guy living there - $845 + electric for a rather large studio. security. heat (forced air) and AC are FREE. parking garage is about $200/month though. this person does not have a car (last i heard). i think he likes it there. its a weird place, sort of. (better than my nearby hood, though! )

otherwise, for $700 max, im sure you can find something not far from downtown, but not in the central business district per se.

do you have preferences? if you are citing the May Building and Allegheny Center, im assuming you dont mind living in a more commercial, moving and shaking environment. are you familiar with the neighborhoods? will you have a car to house....etc.

good luck with your decision! and welcome to pittsburgh - its a great pl....*IM from zman*...its a crappy place!

Downtown will be expensive. Allegheny Center is the biggest apartment complex in the city limits, but it is dated. That may be your best bet. I don't see much anywhere in the city limits for your price range. Rentals have gone up.

In what part of town will you be working?
