Yum, I heard that they're putting a Johnny Rockets in Kennywood this year. I've never been to one, but looking at the website it seems similar to Steak n Shake. Their shakes look delish! Does anyone have any info on how good/not good Johnny Rockets is? Also, will the up the price since its at Kennywood or keep the same? Happy Thursday Pittsburgh!

I've dined at Johnny Rockets locations in/around my hometown of Scranton, PA in the past. It's themed like a '50s diner. Their servers come out and dance about every half-hour or so while patrons gawk. There's little jukeboxes on the tables like they have at Ritter's Diner in Bloomfield. I used to always get the "Rocket Double", which was basically just a double cheesburger. If I remember correctly the burger was tasty yet unremarkable. The fries were pretty good, and the shakes were delicious. I'm surprised, actually, they don't have more locations around here. I think a Johnny Rocket's would do really well in the East End.

I ate at one in Orlando. It's a fun restaurant. I think the food is a bit better than Steak N Shake, and the 50's vibe is fun. It should be popular at Kennywood.

went to one on Constitution Avenue in DC....its great - bring an appetite.
crae09, not sure i would compare it to a Steak n Shake - the food is pricier at JRs, and as i remember it, better quality.

i think Wendy's really holds it own against JR's and Max and Erma's for overall value! (Max and Erma's in Monroeville absolutely sucks).

They're ok. It's a decent chain. My kids liked it when they were young.

I ate at one in Freehold. The loaded chili fries are good, and the shakes are awesome. It's been years, but from what I remember it was worth it.

Never ate at the Pittsburgh one but did in Toronto. The food was good, but nothing spectacular.
