Well you still hear gunfire? Yes? Sorry but for me and having a famliy and wanting to keep them safe, I personally prefer to not ever hear any GUNFIRE at all! But that is me and my paranoid self here you keep referring to me as here, all because I want my children to be safe and not get shot at...gosh how terrible of me to want that!

Also, the relative crime rates for Pt. Breeze and other city areas are not what you might expect given the reputation it has.

We do love it here, I especially because of Frick Park. I moved from Shadyside which I thought I would miss much more than I have ended up missing. We love to go to Ryans and D's, and I get my hair cut at that old time barber shop on Reynolds street and go to that general store all the time right next to it. We have also enjoyed the Point Brugge cafe.
My landlord is a former Pittsburgh police officer. He was telling me what really gives Point Breeze a bad name is the area on the Southeast corner of the intersection of Penn Avenue and Fifth Avenue. Technically that is considered North Point Breeze but he said the police consider it Homewood.
We love our place, the old Joseph Horne mansion is in our back yard and the next door neighbor is a knee surgeon to the Steelers. We are surrounded by multi hundred thousand dollar to million dollar homes. It's the beauty of Pittsburgh, you walk up our stairs and we have a beautiful view, although you are overlooking the whole theme of the city, one neighborhood is great and next door it ain't so.

I was also in Fox Chappel, one of the most well known well-to-do areas in Pittsburgh, and a bank robbery was in progress while I was washing my car and gunfire rang out, so as much as you are trying to find Mayberry, it can happen anywhere.

Seaharbour - I do suggest that you take the advice the substitute mod gave you on the other thread. You do seem to be getting worked up very easily and to tell the truth, there is no reason to get worked up.
Also, please think about things reasonably - sound travels. Just because you can hear a gun shot doesn't mean that you are anywhere in danger of it. I have heard gunshots in every single area of the city I have lived in.
But rememeber geography plays into this. Because of our hills and valleys, sound travels oddly.
If safety is a concern, I'd suggest you move to a rural area. But to tell the truth, I heard even more gunshots when I lived in a rural area.

i am..i do realize it is my trauma from being a bad area that is making this worse, but i stand by what i said here, I was not out to hurt anyone..anyhoo...I just rather not hear a gunshot, I rather not go into why, but its triggers alot of post traumatic stress in me and I realy want the nice area for my children to live and to be safe..and for wanting that, If feel I am being treated as if i am Asking too much in life for...anyhow that is my problem i guess to deal with..i am done takling but it too here...I do not like rural area either too many meth labs and not enough amneities in them, that is why I like mt lebanon so much, with flex time we can avoid all the bad traffic and have what is left anymore of a nice place to raise a family in...

Another report was received on this thread. It too is being temporarily closed until the Pittsburgh moderators come on board.
Thanks to all for contributing.

ontheroad did what I would have done too. Another thread has been derailed . I suggest some of you think twice before engaging in similar personal arguments. Next time, infractions will follow.
