Pennsylvania Cellular Reviews. In Pittsburgh you can choose by price, there isn't a clear winner. However, when getting out into "the hills", I have better luck with coverage from Verizon.

Customer Service? AT&T is among the worst, with Sprint a distant 2nd.

I had T-Mobile here.. Thanking everyday that my contract with them has expired and I was able to cancel my contract. One full year of the cell phone sitting in a box because their service was so awful. Never again.

I had times where I was in downtown Pittsburgh and couldnt get reception.. The internet was slower then.. well to darn slow..

That's sad, if there's any place anyone should have reception, it should be downtown.

I had cricket, the only thing I liked was unlimited. Customer service terrible, you have to pay 5 dollars over the phone to pay bill or at the store, you have to pay for a paper bill. Gee why do I have to pay like that. Also we were paying 90 bucks a month for cricket cause we had to pay extra to get roaming calls since we traveled a lot to Ohio. Signal is very poor too.

I am under my parents family plan in Verizon cause my niece's cell phone was returned to my mom and she did not want it to be sitting there until it expired so she gave it to me. I just got a new phone upgrade and on their plan for another 2 yrs. I live in West Virginia but my cell number is pgh since my parents are in pgh. Customer service is awesome too.

My husband and his dad just got verizon almost a month ago and love it, great signal from Weirton Wva Rt 22 to Pgh. Not a problem. My husband is paying 90 dollars a month, but that is with 2 phones and unlimited text messages.

Just make sure you dial *228 on all of your phones when you get here to program them to our towers.

Default Consumer Reports

This month's Consumer Reports rated the major carriers in 20 major U.S. markets - but unfortunately Pittsburgh was not one of them. Verizon and T-Mobile were ranked 1-2 (in overall customer satisfaction) in 15 of the 20 markets. Was surprised to find AT&T listed as "generally a second-tier carrier."

Anyway, I have T-mobile and found it to be decent in the Pittsburgh area, especially when considering the hills ... the only downtown trouble I had was inside the Hilton.

Happy Holidays.

Well, I've managed to stay out of the courthouse. Big stone buildings can give me problems, that's true. But I imagine they can give all carriers problems, true?

To your point, the T-mobile coverage doesn't seem as robust as Verizon to me (based only on personal observation of friends' reception). I got a pretty good deal, so I suppose it's a trade-off for me.

Cheers!
