I thought we had several of these posts already. What about the one where we were to list or top 5 things we like about Pittsburgh and 5 things we don't.

Here. What is good and bad about Pittsburgh. Almost the same as what you like or dislike. However, if you use the advanced search feature, there are definitely threads that have come and gone SPECIFICALLY about what we like and dislike about the city. It seems to all be the same exact answers, nothing different than you'd find here:

what is good and bad about Pittsburgh

But I do love you Guylocke! *smile*

And Scranton, you're way up there also. I love your positive attitudes about PA.
I'm scared stiff to be moving there permanently this summer and I need as much reassurance as I can get.

The last thing I need at this time of my life, is more
stress! Just trust me on that one....

It's comforting to hear nice things about an area in the Northeast. Coming from Buffalo, I know all too well the problems of being a rustbelt city. Living in Scottsdale, AZ now, I see the good and bad about what living in a boomtown is like and I understand what it is like to live in an area with a completely climate with a large illegal population. It's way different from Pittsburgh, but since I grew up in Buffalo, NY, I feel as though I can relate to much of what Pittsburgh has and is experiencing. KWIM?

I try to pull the positives out of conversations and I try to ignore the negative (even if I tend to agree). I definately try to avoid conflict by all means possible. However, that's not always been the case.

Sorry, back on target:

The hills!
The sight coming through the tunnel into the city!
The football and baseball stadiums!
The WATER! Three, count 'em THREE rivers!
Really nice neighborhoods in the suburbs.
Shadyside.
Kennywood!
Not too far from my home in NY.
The airport!
The restaurants!
The fact that there are four seasons!

It is always best to focus on the postive huhn London? I agree with you!!! However I have learned alot from people who post negative things too, I think we learn alot from each other when we have a open mind!

understand what it is like to live in an area with a completely climate with a large illegal population

One of the reason we are moving back London...Pgh for some reason doesn't have an illegal problem!

I think the reason we don't have many illegals is because the jobs that are available require a degree and most illegals work very menial jobs. The service sector is not that large in Pittsburgh so there are few jobs they can do in Pittsburgh.
