Yea I've frequented Soundcat and Attic many times, but didn't know if they were having anything special going on.

Prices are in pounds, but where £1.00 equals about $1.66, £150 = $249.
My husband brought his nice old Technics turntable and all his records and CDs with him

So you folks who have turntables. You have a receiver/amp and speakers too? It's been so long that I owned such a setup (twenty years) that I can't really imagine even where to put all that stuff. I don't really have a room in the house where it would be appropriate.

Yes, we have a Teac receiver and CD player, and Wharfedale speakers, they are under the TV with the DVD player and the speakers have stands. It doesn't seem like as much stuff as back in the 70s though!

Thanks for the link! I have a turntable but have been in the market for a new one that I don't need to pay a few hundred dollars for

Yep, me too. Setup is in my bedroom.
Technics direct drive turntable
Sony 500w receiver/amp
JVC dual cassette deck
Sony 5 disc CD player
One set each Bose 201s, 301s, 401s speakers.

Another setup in living room, minus the dual tape deck.

Along with my huge collection of 45s, 33s, and CDs.
I am still old school, seems better to me than digital downloads or streaming.

Still have my Pioneer 100 watt amp, and Bose speakers. Akai Reel to Reel is in the garage, sold the turntables years ago, not longer have the Dual cassette deck, have 5 disc CD player. But lately just hook up the iphone when having people over. My first "system" cost me about 1000 bucks back in 1975, that was a ton of money back then.

I have my TV, turntable and computer all plugged into the same receiver and have the receiver hooked up to surround sound in my living room. I also have a portable turntable as well.

I'm not using a turntable currently, because I live in an apartment that is the opposite of soundproof. But if I did, I would have a similar setup in my LR, only without surround sound. I'd also want to get better speakers than I have now. I use headphones on my computer, which is in my LR, and a pair of Paradigm Atoms on either side of my bed. The Atoms aren't revealing enough that I can perceive the difference between LP and CD most of the time.
