A year is definitely too short. That could easily be a mix up with the mortgage's escrow account or something.

You have to be delinquent for a year, so you have to not pay taxes for close to two years. Plus, if it is an owner-occupied property, the land bank is required to contact you and put you in touch with:

I don't see the problem with the time frame given those protections.
