Can we field some guesses as to where the author of this map lives based on the expressed biases?

I'd go with a liberal suburb based on the continued belief that downtown still closes up at 5pm (the suburb portion of the guess) and the careful avoidance of any direct use of racial descriptions apart from white when describing an area negatively (the liberal leaning portion)

Not much of a liberal (not that bad excuses for liberals are uncommon). Words like "ghetto" and barely coded phrases like "pretty much Detroit" aren't exactly signs of racial enlightenment. Nor are phrases like "white trash."

Just out of curiosity - none of you have seen judgmental maps for other cities before?

Fail. Way too much going on imo. These things should have some humor, and this one is void of any. The Baltimore map is pretty funny. There is a part of the West End I would label as "Beyond Thunderdome". Now that's funny. Also, Point Breeze south is labeled as "too poor for Squirrel Hill"? There are some pretty nice houses in Point Breeze.

Yeah, I got the impression that the person who did this one was either not familiar enough with the whole city to be creative or funny, or just not very creative or funny. There was a similiar sort of thing floating around a few years ago that was better. Not great, but at least better.

I was thinking it looked unnecessarily busy, but chalked it up to topography making the individual neighborhoods tiny compared to those in Chicago or Seattle. I think you're right though, "ghetto" and "yuppie" are lazy, the one for San Francisco is a lot more creative.
