I believe so, which is the highest in the United States.

Then again, our transit prices are also among the highest in the United States as well.

Pittsburgh's new slogan: Want to go to work? Pay up.

The city is most livable if you don't live in a desirable area and/or you got skills like Mike Holmes.

But if you want to get from point A to point B? Pay up bro.

I'm enjoying this discussion immensely. I would say that I've lived in both city and burbs, both in Pittsburgh and "other cities which shall not be named". Like several others, my social life was never any different anywhere I lived. Most suburban cities, townships, etc have recreation facilities, movie theaters, restaurants, and the like.

Well, you have to include the time spent finding the parking place and walking from it to your destination as part of your commute if you intend to be on time for anything.

I'm arguing that far too many suburbanites then do NOT account for the time spent looking for parking, parking, and walking to their destinations, which can easily tack another 10-15 minutes onto their commutes.

That "10 minutes from South Fayette to Downtown" example posted above is pretty much spot-on for how long most suburbanites THINK it takes them to get to work.
I don't think it's just suburbanites, and it's not just Pittsburghers. It's ubiquitous.

Finding a parking space doesn't take time if you park at the same place everyday. Walking to work wasn't a big deal because I always parked in the parking garage in my building or next to my building. Regardless, my routine didn't involve going straight from the parking garage to the office unless I was running late. I often went to breakfast after parking, ran some errands and then headed to the office later. My morning routine was similar when I rode a bus because the bus got me into town 30+ minutes before I started work.

Sounds like some people drive around looking for the perfect spot. Other than a sporting event, the Casino, or place to eat, I have no need for anything in the city. So when I do visit the city I park by where I'm going. Whether it be a meter, a lot, or a garage. Not difficult to easily find a spot and be where I need to be in a few minutes after getting to the city.
