I'm planning to paint them in place for now and screen the area with plastic as well as possible. I am fortunate in that there is one coat or less on these as far as I can tell.
Disconnecting them is relatively easy. These were extremely heavy, I'm guessing between 400 and 500 pounds. My brother an I moved them with two wooden carts with rollers. The hard part was getting them down a couple steps from my front porch.

I first tried stripping them but there were too many layers of paint. We managed to get them on a truck and take them to a place that sandblasted them. Paint on a radiator makes it less efficient so you want to spray them as lightly as possible.

Call the landlord back and tell him his "odor spray" idea didn't work and you want a professional plumber to come and check it out for safety concerns, and you don't feel you should be paying for it
