DH and I, and our friends, tailgated plenty "back in the day"... and we always brought trash bags, and we always took them home.
It's the right thing to do!

Did you also bring your own porta potty, and shouldn't they need to be provided either?

Not worth taking a chance of getting in trouble with open containers.

The right thing to do is clean up and throw it in garbage cans/dumpsters that should be provided for such an event.

When proper protocol is not taken for the magnitude of a Chesney event, these things happen. Pay up and do it properly rather than cheaping out and the results will be reflected.

We passed a convoy of pick up trucks with 3X5 confederate and "don't tread on me" flags that were heading to the north shore that morning on rt28 last year. "Clearly" these people were from Lawrenceville and Shadyside.

"most of those country fans were from the city"

THAT is good one.

Do you stop and take a crap on the sidewalk when you have to go if there aren't any obvious public restrooms nearby?

While its hard to accept that many city folk attend those events, they certainly do.

Hmm, never been in that position. City does a good job of having facilities available...just not enough garbage cans/dumpsters that day. Wouldn't worry though. I'm betting they won't make the same mistake twice.

Between all the Pirate games traffic and all of the city events that take place, you must have a lot of rough days. Less stressful to grin and bear it.

So you would poop on the curb as opposed to holding it and finding a proper place to void your bowels?

You realize that the absence of a facility, whether it be a porto john or a trash can, does not legally absolve someone of their responsibility to put their refuse in an appropriate container? The pirate fans seem to understand this when they tailgate. Not sure why people up in Erie don't get it.

If I ever get in that position I'll let you know.

Pirate fans tailgating? Do they start 12 hours before the game? How many fans tailgate? You're comparing totally different events, venues, and fans. Its easy to fall asleep at a Pirate game. Its like the other person comparing a Taylor Swift event to a Kenny Chesney event. Not even close.

Not from Erie. Never was. How many people do you know in Erie that "don't get it"?

I have no idea who Luke Whoever is. Rode by the stadium on Western Ave around 5pm, as far as I could see there were open containers everywhere. People who think that the cops are going to enforce all of those rules are naïve in that line of thinking. Also as far the whole country hillbilly thing goes. The boonies are about 10-15 mins outside of the city.

So it looked like every baseball/football game & large concert on the north shore then?

People have open containers, oh the humanity!

So much for it being an issue of there being not enough trashcans.
