Ah... that is an indication that this poster does not have valid information.
UPMC already has a state-of-the-art cancer center with the Hillman Center in Shadyside.

You've provided very interesting information which sounds logical enough but not taken so seriously because of no link to back it up, and your sentence structure, etc., isn't so good.
What I have found out:
The Roxy Cafe is closing in S. Hills Viilage because of lease renewal difficulties with Simon. A residential development has been approved at Parkway Center.

I'm not so sure I'd call it "information", but rather, "MISinformation". Hell, I work with the Simon people every day, and there have been so many numerous rumors over the past few years, that they just laugh at them anymore, now.... Century III ain't goin' anywhere, anytime soon. All it needs, is a few more people to support it and shop there.

This is interesting, but hardly shocking. Tenant renewals are always a topic for discussion, as whenever one experiences declining patronage and then gets hit again with the new, higher rent prices, they usually opt not to renew.

Do you have a source for this info?
Thanks!

I live not far from Parkway Center, and it's such a waste of space. It's not upscale--there's a Kmart and a Giant Eagle. I can't understand why the owners/developers never tried to get someplace like a Burlington Coat Factory or Value City to make it more of a discount shopping area, since there's no place like it nearby and it has easy highway access.

That would only switch out what is wasting space.
Level the mall and build a nice mixed use development with condos, apartments, townhomes, offices and ground floor retail, with a smaller, quality grocery store and relevant stores and restaurants. There's great access to the city from there and it should not continue to be wasted on suburban garbage.
