I have a couple of area rugs (8 x 10) and (5 x 7) that are pretty grungy--the dog loves lolling around on them. Can anyone recommend someone who will clean these? Or am I better off renting a steam cleaner? The rugs are 100% wool.

We've had good luck with North Side Carpet Cleaners over by Penn Brewing. They've done both cleaning and repairs for us.

The Taskrabbit option isn't available in Pittsburgh, yet, for this kind of job.

Maybe pretty soon they or a similar outfit will make it here, this is a app-driven personal assistance service, trying to do what Uber and Lyft are doing in personal transport.

Wool rugs have to be scrubbed correctly and dried correctly. And I think stretched and blocked while they dry. Need ventilation & dehumidification while drying them. http://www.nytimes.com/2013/04/04/ga...list.html?_r=0 Maybe ask her for a reference, since she did a clinic in McKeesport in 2013?

What is the name of the Oriental rug dealer who had a store in an old church? It caught on fire a while ago. Here ya go: http://pittsburgh.cbslocal.com/2012/...es-rocks-fire/ Ask them for a reference if they are still in business.
