Default Convert baseball at the top of Yard Way to a park with overlook

Has anyone here ever seen the baseball field at the top of Yard Way in the Southside? It is in an absolutely prime spot for a great view of the entire Pittsburgh valley, and it is being (in my opinion) wasted as a baseball field that no one really uses (to my knowledge). Because it is a baseball field, there are ~15 ft. tall fences surrounding the field, and the fence on the northern side is completely grown in with ivy, completely blocking the amazing view of the city.

While walking my dog up the Yard Way steps and through the field, I couldn't help but imagine the field converted into a beautiful park, with an awesome overlook on the North side overlooking the entire city. The view at which would rival the ones at Mt. Washington or the West End. It wouldn't be that difficult to do, just plant some trees, put in some landscaping and built a little overlook and, voila! You have yourself an amazing park that would enhance the property values of all the houses around.

Am I crazy, or has anyone else noticed this gem just sitting there going to waste? How do we plant the seed in local government to get someone to even consider this?

I have heard of a developer wanting to put condos here That would really stink in my opinion.

If anyone's interested, I could probably post pictures of the view you could have, and the field in its current condition.

I like the idea of it being a place where kids and adults can play ball. I've played on that field. But if no one much is using it, then I understand making the conversion that you suggest. It's an intriguing proposal.
