Don't all of those apartment and condo buildings on the North Shore have parking garages?

To put your minds at ease, I drive a 97 Tacoma and have spent $2K worth of upgrades/fixes over the course of 2 inspections...if they are that thorough on my vehicle then I can be even more confident driving on the roads.

I wish every state had them.

If only it was as strict as Germany, every car would be off the roads! Lol.
Now I know you're trolling.

What is the problem? I felt it was incredibly dangerous driving on I25 in Denver and even 225.

But the highways here don't bother me at all.

I love the auto inspections and wish they were even more strict with what vehicles can pass for safety.

Hey people on this forum broach driving as privilege so there you go.

And Germany doesn't mess around, I'm telling you if we adopted their methodology to our vehicles I'm pretty sure every car would be off the roads.

I'm not in a condo or apartment building.

And I park my car on street.

If you're truly on the north shore, it should be easy to narrow down where you live. I recommend locking doors---car and residence---since you've pretty much made this public. The north shore is a tiny area. I only see two possible places you could live if you're really in that part of north side.

You better lock your door, that's how the Brighton Heights burglar was gaining access to the houses he robbed. All of them had unlocked doors/windows.

As of the 2010 census, the only residents of the North Shore who didn't live in the Morgan at North Shore Apartments were 20 homeless people who lived under the highway, and 14 people living in the remaining houses in Schwietzer Lock.

I suppose it's possible you live in one of the places I linked to, in which case I would guess street parking is easy and it's very safe, since that area is a ghost town. Otherwise, I'm guessing you're straight trollin. More like the North Shore of the Allegheny in Armstrong County, amirite?

Dangerous? Not IMO. Frustrating, infuriating, sometimes, but dangerous not so much!

Doubt it. They sell their cars over here, don't they?

Anyway, back to safety, if you're not trolling. I grew up in Patterson Hts, a little burb of Beaver Falls. To make a long story short (relatively anyway), we had some money stolen out of our house on several occasions (until my parents took corrective action). Heck, I had a relative living on a farm in Enon Valley. He ran an apple orchard. He did some private sales. His house was broken into, by someone or someones looking for money. I believe he was also attacked.

This was not a reference to new car sales, but to inspection standards. These are extremely tough and can result in cars being taken off the road for the slightest defects, quarter-sized rust patches, etc.

Talk about the irrational fear Americans have. Nobody is going to try to turn your knob to see if the door is locked. Nobody.
Can you send me your address? I want to, er .... do some research on the area

When we arrived to move into our new house, we were waiting for the realtor to arrive with our keys. It was cold, my wife tried the door just in case they had already arrived, and it was open. Probably had been since closing 2 months earlier!! For the record, it's always locked now
