If you believe in yourself as not being a follower, why are you intimidated when your friends talk about stuff you can't relate to, so you feel you have to change yourself?
I'm FROM Homestead ,though I don't live there anymore, and haven't for quite some time.
I find it hard to believe you've never called anyone a redneck ever, but if that's how it is, so be it. And sure you can talk ebonics "because you want to" just like you can dress "however you want to" and so on and so on, but doing things just because you can is a child's attitude. I assume there is reason to everything you do, and an underlying reason to why you dress and talk the way you choose to, but you won't dig deep enough to find out what it is

You would be the person to not believe that I've never used such words.
I find it disrespectful that people actually do that.
Yes, I consider myself not a follower if you knew me you would know I have my own style. What do I have to dig deep for I know my reasoning for my lifestyle. I know why I dress and talk the way I do. It's in my comfort zone. I do have some clothes that I could put on do go to social events too. Child's attitude my foot. It's childish to assume that one is ghetto because the way they dress them self.

I get a big kick out of watching these young kids try to reach into their pockets when their pants are down around their crotch and their pockets are near their ankles.they are bent over almost completely in half sideways.I heard a cop say,"I hope they (criminals)continue to ware there pants around there knees, its easier to chase them down.

Just so you guys know, use "they're" when you're talking about more than one person, "their" when something belongs to someone and "there" when you mean "hey look over there!"

LOL, Very true Saturday....
AveoJohn: Where are you still seeing kids wear sagging pants? There is a difference between sagging pants and baggy. You did know that right?

You don't see baggy pants anymore, you see saggy pants/saggy shirts. Sagging = something hanging low. Baggy = Puffyish clothing

Na, it's the other way around unless sagging pants are back. See me my pants are at my waist at all times my pants are baggy though. That trend went out in the late 90s to early 2000. At least that's how was in the city. Now, they do make pants where the pocket are lower on the jeans.

In Erie, I've been seeing a lot of sagging shorts that go with the oversized shirts, as is like, if they put their pants around their waist you wouldn't be able to see the pants, so they have to sag them in order to show everyone they have pants on.
I also see this at places like skateparks and malls and such, still.
I haven't seen baggy pants since the late 90s on the otherhand, thought it died out with the ravers

I think you guy are mixing it up.. Sagging pant are when the waist band of the pants are on your a**. Baggy pants are not those things MC Hammer used to wear. My pants fit at my waist with no need of a belt.
