I am trying to locate original house plans for some of the homes in the South Side of Pittsburgh. The homes have been updated or renovated and I am very curious about what they looked like when built. Where can I find this information?

i dont think a plan ever existed, most older homes unless they were a sears kit or a wealthy person were built on the fly. there are alot of original examples left.

There are quite a few local historic preservation groups. Do an online search for ones in that area. They should be able to help you find what you're looking for - if it exists.

Carol Peterson has been doing house histories for quite some time, and may already have information. Not sure she would do a history for someone if it isn't their house?

Thank you, Everyone, for your rapid responses. Doo dah, a friend of mine lives in one of those homes so I will put her in touch with Carol Peterson. Thanks, again!
