The T or a designated lane like a BRT. 376 was a nightmare this fall during rush hour. I had a friend who decided to stay at a hotel near the airport in order to not miss a flight.

The 28X is so not a flyer by any normal person's definition of the word. There is the West Busway, and it does take that, but it stops at every. single. station. on the way, then does this asinine loop around Robinson Town Center. Even with the traffic situation, which is bad at rush hour without a dedicated BRT lane through Oakland and Downtown (though I guess one of those is in the works), you could shave a lot of time off an Oakland->Downtown->Airport run by only stopping once in Oakland (people can deal with getting themselves to that one stop), once in Downtown, and then not again until the Airport. Instead, people who live along the West Busyway use it as a commuter route and people who Park and Ride at Robinson also do, and it defeats the entire purpose of an Airport "flyer."

These silly little lists companies come up with for sales of advertising are always a good laugh, but there are people that really believe the lists and they may visit here, so that is a good thing for Pittsburgh. I have seen so many lists of this and that, I don't really read them anymore. Just a bit too silly.

More people use the 28X to commute to and from work in the airport corridor.

The tdp had recommended the flyer eliminate the loop and employ dedicated buses with luggage racks when funding became available

So what? There should be separate routes for non-airport commuters and flyers. Have a plain old "28" for the people who want to get between Oakland/Downtown/West Busway/Robinson. Then implement Theta Sigma's idea of a true Airport Flyer with limited stops. Oakland, Downtown, maybe just one station on the West Busway, and the Airport. If East Liberty continues to grow into a transit hub it could make sense to add a stop there before Oakland as well.

the 28x is an absolute joke. Get rid of it or make it a non-airport route. Then get a real airport express bus (or better yet, extend the T) that doesn't stop at Robinson Mall and take an hour to get to the airport from Oakland. The airport has enough issues as it is...isn't it a good idea to at least make getting to/from there fairly easy?

Conde Naste - they don't play games with their subscribers or their long earned rep. They aren't looking for "hits" on their website. They don't do list for the novelty. This reaches very upscale people.

This ranking will result in visitors that would have never even thought of pittsburgh. It will further change perceptions of countless people who change cultural opinions. The impact to Pittsburgh is probably impossible to measure and in any event beyond anything a city could do to promote itself.

Anyone treats this as "ol brother, another meaningless list" really has no clue.

Huge for Pittsburgh.

Not really. Spending billion or so to make it easier to get downtown from the airport for those willing to use lrt will do nothing to address the airports problems. First you have to address the airports problems before you build lrt. It is far more important to build alternatives to get to and from downtown without driving through tunnels for the majority I commuters and regional visitors. If the majority of traffic on the 28x is local then the t would also make those stops. Remember the Robinson loop was added back as a cost saving measure. Breaking that link is much easier and cheaper than building new lrt.
