Maybe I just know a bit too much about American beer history.
Yeah, but see, if you want to sound like you know something about Pittsburgh drinking history, you need to mention "Imp and Ahrn".

Remember these classics: Bavarian, Old German, Hop'n Gator, Robin Hood (16oz). These were the brands that crossed the border into OH. I think most of these were brewed in Pittsburgh. I always had beer-envy of Pittsburgh, you guys had the best brands and put all the champions on the cans (the great IC cans from the 70s.) Somebody should start a beer can thread, I'm way off topic here.

This is how a newbie can make himself look stupid. Copanut is a long time poster, and this is like a bunch of buddies joking around. You can insult your buddy, and he's knows it's a joke. A stranger hears it, and thinks it's an insult. That's why when you come to a board that you don't frequent, you need to familiarize yourself with it before you make anything but the most benign posts.

The world, as seen by Yinzers, extends from Altoona, to Youngstown, north to Erie, and south to about Fairmont, WV. Neighboring worlds are Philly, NYC, Baltimore and DC, plus Cleveland. Cincy is near the edge of the solar system. Everything else is just a rumor.

Been here a short while (about a year and change, but here daily). Didn't get it was a joke right away. I'd guess that I'm not alone in that.

It's not obviously joking until further in the thread. Joking is of course fine, but don't verbally beat folks who aren't part of the long-termers' "get the $*#@ of my lawn" group.
