Long, gray, cold, cloudy, more gray, some snow, midwinter melt, gray, huge snow mid-March, more clouds, cold, gray.
The only one of these you could make a certain case for year to year was gray.

It IS gray.

This winter has been stupid easy, so far.

I agree. I spent 21 winters in Pittsburgh. I do not remember any big March snowstorms. I have pictures of many a March Easter with everyone in shirtsleeves. It flaked a little in March the year my mother died. Perhaps you are thinking of winter in Colorado?

March 13, 1993, record snowfall. Something like three feet in a day. Pittsburgh didn't cancel their St. Pat's Day parade, and everyone got stranded.

I remember distinctly because it was my first 29th birthday, and we celebrated with all the Irish revelers at a little Irish bar in Carnegie that we could walk to in the deep deep snow.

Almost makes me a little nostalgic until I think about how long it all took to melt

We had like 3 inches of total snow far so far. The sun peaks through every month or so.
It makes sunny days in April and May so much better though

Oh give me a break, it's sunny right now and it was yesterday and the day before too. People don't take time to enjoy their world in Pittsburgh, they would rather take the longest route home and sit in the same terrible traffic every day.

This is true, but if you remember what they were calling that storm: "The blizzard of the century." We hadn't seen that much snow in the entire 20th century!

Not that I really care to delve into an argument over what the weather was like the past few days, but I have to say that the past 3 days in a row were absolutely gorgeous, sunny and all. If you were in cloudy weather Monday and Tuesday, you must not have been in Pittsburgh.

I am saying this after being in one of the sunniest metros in the nation. Here in Pittsburgh, if you can see a yellow hazy ball through low clouds it is considered sunny.

I came here from Denver too, and the past few days were gorgeous. Although, admittedly, gorgeous is in the eye of the beholder.
