I've been working downtown in Pittsburgh for the past 2 years now, however it was recently brought to my attention I have been paying the wrong rate. Pittsburgh's tax rate on my paychecks are 3% whereas my residence is only 1%.

According to this Jordan Tax Service letter I received I should be paying the tax rate on where I reside, not where I work.

I've already filed my taxes for last year so how would I go about getting back some of that money I paid?

file a tax return for last year and you will get the difference as a refund. file an amended return for your first year, Jordan tax is a horrible company to deal with, expect a fight on any amended return.

did you give payroll the correct municipal code at the start, if not you should have it changed.

Thanks guy for your reply.

I will work with payroll on getting that switched.

I seriously thought at first Jordan Tax Services was an illegitimate company.
