I mean "hair-challenged" like...skinhead?

What's up with that?

I would be pulling my hair out if I was a cop. Almost every news cast has a phone video against one.

If you have hair people can tell when you just woke up.

The majority of police officers all over the country, all have the same "cop haircut", Pittsburgh is no different.

Don't forget the sunglasses even on a cloudy day.

Most keep it that way so it cannot be grabbed/pulled on by a suspect when in a scuffle.
Also supposed to give a more intimidating look.

Word, since I have been in the public safety field for ages.

One of the biggest problems of American police today. A total separation from communities and totally military in style instead of getting to know the people that pay them. They want to intimidate everyone and then they wonder why people dislike them? No one wants some idiot "high and tight" looking at them as if we are all criminals. WE (the community) pays them and WE should be treated with respect UNLESS of course a person is doing something illegal, which is a very small percentage of people, to the point of a fraction of a percent. Why should entire communities put up with such a disjoint? We shouldn't!

The new Pittsburgh police cheif should be commended for his efforts. The city police appear to be more engaged with the communities that they serve. I live in a predominantly black neighborhood . Yesterday I noticed a police care parked on my street. The officers got out of the car and introduced themselves to the children playing football in the street (my son included). I spoke to my son about it afterward and he said they were nice and asked how they were doing. My son said this never happened before. There has to be some type of reciprocity within our cities and this is a start.
